we had a great easter weekend. the weather was beautiful. we had a great time as a family and then later visiting extended family.
last thursday, we spent the night at a hotel near boston, mass. good friday was spent at the children's museum in boston. i don't think that even a hundredth of a second was wasted on boredom that day.

want to feel old? here's my soon to be six year old playing with the cash register the only way she knows how.
yes, that's right folks, she is scanning the food! it doesn't ever cross her mind that those buttons are there for a reason and could be pushed.
the girls wanted to spend an eternity at the hair salon place. i finally kicked them out when another girl returned for the second time to have a turn with the mannequins.
the kids made it to the top and back twice in this three-story climb/rope thingy.
we got home late friday night, then headed to new york state for an easter egg hunt with the cousins at my parents' house. again, the weather was beautiful. (sadly, no pics).
sunday morning, in honor of general conference (a special semi-annual meeting for our church), we made waffles with strawberries and whip cream.
i was so tired out by sunday afternoon that all i made for dinner was potatoes cooked in a frying pan with onions and sandwich meat ham. i then made more waffles for the kids. my brother informed me it was a most pathetic easter meal (i agree), but we were fed and the whole weekend was fun. did i mention how beautiful the weather was?
actually, still is... sunshine warms my soul.
happy belated easter, everyone!

How fun does that museum look? Fritz is getting so big! And playing with the mannequins? No thank you.
It is actually Ann. Your posts make us miss you all so much! Hope we can maybe see you later this summer as we may be in DC or Upstate NY at some point! love, annie
April! The museum sounds like a blast. But that is not the most pathetic Easter dinner ever. One year we had watermelon and tuna salad and jellybeans. That was pathetic. :)
A very belated happy Easter, other Hinckleys! Once again, you get the good parent award, April . . . and I'm impressed that you cooked anything at all! That would have been a splendid home-cooked meal at our house. Your kids are having a really fun childhood. Well done.
Okay, I totally did not realize just how cool that museum was until I read your blog. What an awesome way to spend the holiday. btw. I like waffels, and I bet your kids did too!
It all looks like you guys had so much fun.

As an art student researching the work of the Impressionists, I have big help from this site called wahooart.com. It's like a good art library, where, convenient for me,
works of artists are divided into art movements in history. Some of the works I had never seen before.
As the canvas prints are affordable, I ordered online a little size canvas print of my favorite,

Nice way to decorate your walls. I have never done that. My effort to beautify the walls in my house was to order big-sized canvas prints from wahooart.com, from images of western art. I use the same angel motifs in all of the rooms painted by different painters, such as this one by very interesting English artist Stanley Spencer, http://EN.WahooArt.com/A55A04/w.nsf/OPRA/BRUE-8LT7K6.
